HONEYLOAM  CANDLE CARE GUIDE

HANDCRAFTED. AIR PURIFYING. NATURALLY DIVINE.

SAFETY FIRST.

ALWAYS TEND TO YOUR FLAME. Burn within sight and be sure to extinguish your candle when you leave the room or head to bed.

Burn your candle on an even and temperature safe surface that is out of reach from children, pets and flammable objects like curtains, paper, blankets, loose clothing, etc.. Place your candle in a draft-free area for a steady, clean burn.

The candle vessel will be hot to the touch, so handle with care. Never place the lid directly on a burning candle; wait until the candle has completely cooled before applying the lid.

MINDING YOUR BEESWAX.

THE FIRST BURN IS EVERYTHING. Your HoneyLoam candle will arrive ready for its first burn, with wicks pre-trimmed to 1/4" (~6 mm). At first use, burn long enough for the beeswax to melt all the way to the edges of the vessel (general rule for first burn: 3 hours for large (34 oz) candle, 2 hours for the mid-sized (11 oz) candle).

Before each burn, trim wicks to 1/4" (~6 mm) using wick trimmers or scissors, and light all wicks together. Never burn your candle for more than 3 hours at a time to avoid oversized flames or overburning, which can cause wicks to mushroom, uneven burns, and reduce your candle's longevity.

Regularly check your wax pool and remove debris and wick trimmings to ensure smooth, clean burns.

ALCHEMY OF THE SENSES.

CANDLES INVITE A SLOWER RHYTHM. Their steady flame and soft, natural scent create space for quiet attention—whether during meditation, journaling, or moments of intentional pause.

Light the candle at the beginning of your practice as a simple ritual, concentration exercise, or daily gratitude practice.

The warmth, soft golden light, faint honeyed aroma, and the quiet movement of the flame work together to shift awareness. This subtle interplay invites presence, turning simple moments into an alchemy of the senses.

REPURPOSE WITH INTENTION.

When only about 1/2" to 1/4" wax remains, your candle is ready for new life. The handcrafted ceramic, lidded vessel is a timeless piece, intentionally designed to be repurposed.

Check out our blog post on how to clear out wax and prepare your vessel for its next life.

SOME IDEAS FOR REUSE: Functional container, planter pot for succulents or houseplants that need little to no drainage, decorative storage for kitchen items like tea bags, condiments, etc., shelf or tabletop decor, art display or functional accent piece.
